The Communications Group is committed to spreading the Christian message through a variety of channels available.   

Communication is at the heart of all that we do as a community here in Bearna.  Whether you are a regular member of our community or an occasional visitor you will have experienced the wonderful sense of belonging here in Bearna and that can only come about through our communication and connection with each other every time we have the opportunity to meet.

We are also fully mindful of the many parishioners, family and friends who can no longer have the personal interaction with home , and so, we reach these through some of our working groups as you will see below.

DUILLEOG:

Members of this group collate material received from parishioners and working groups of the parish.  A Christian message is prepared by this team and then they type, photocopy and prepare the Newsletter for distribution after each of the weekend Masses.

WEBSITE:

A sub-committee of the Communications Group is responsible for the the parish Website.  The members upload the Duilleog onto the Website on a weekly basis.  This team also create and maintain the Photo Galleries of all special events that take place in our parish.  The website is also used to display the workings of all our Parish Groups.  The team are currently developing plans to implement enhancements to the Website.   We have many visitors to our Website from all over the world who visit frequently.  The duilleog and photo-galleries are the most popular pages viewed.

MASS LEAFLETS:

A member of the group takes on the task of preparing and printing the Scripture readings for the weekend Masses.

COMHLUADAR:

A sub-committee of the Communications Group is responsible for the production of our parish magazine which is published at Christmas and Summer.  The magazine is a catalogue of all the activities that is undertaken by both our church and parish based groups.  This has become an integral and popular feature of life in Bearna parish and both Summer and Christmas editions are eagerly awaited by many. 

CRANN NA NDEORAI:

At Christmas time, parishioners are invited to place names and addresses of family members and friends living overseas on the tree.  When celebrating St. Patrick's Day, greetings from Bearna parish are sent to these people and a special remembrance Mass is celebrated on that day.

RELIGIOUS MAGAZINES: 

Various magazines are available for anyone who wishes to receive them on a regular basis.

PARISH CHRISTMAS CARDS:

Christmas Cards with a Christian theme are designed, sourced and printed in preparation for sale after Masses in the weeks leading up to Christmas.
